In 2024, our family made a decision that most would call bold—some might even call it crazy. We downsized from a four-bedroom home, let go of nearly 90% of our belongings, and moved into a 38-foot Forest River Surveyor Legend 303BHLE. This wasn’t just a move; it was the start of an entirely new chapter—one built around freedom, connection, and intentional living.

Post-COVID, it became clear to us that the conventional path—traditional jobs, fixed homes, and standard schooling—wasn’t the path we wanted for our family. We saw too many families tied to routines that left little space for presence, exploration, or truly knowing one another. So we asked ourselves: What if we started fresh? What if we built our foundation from the ground up, centered on our values rather than society’s expectations?

RV living became our answer. It offered the freedom to take our home wherever our hearts led us, the flexibility to explore the world as a classroom for our children, and the simplicity of living with only what truly matters. Trading square footage for open horizons was more than just a lifestyle shift—it was a promise to give our kids a childhood that is rare in today’s world: one filled with nature, adventure, and connection.

As we settle into this journey, we’re learning that embracing RV living isn’t about giving things up—it’s about gaining so much more. More time together. More freedom to roam. More experiences that shape not just our travels, but our lives. This is just the beginning of the Hippie Fam journey, and we can’t wait to see where the road takes us next.
